Failure to test new AML system costs Wells Fargo $7 million

Upon deployment of the new version of its AML transaction monitoring system, Wells Fargo Advisors failed to perform sufficient testing to ensure that the system cross-referenced or otherwise reconciled both the ISO and Geospatial Codes in order to trigger alerts for wire transfers involving high risk or moderate risk countries
