Prediction Markets; Public Interest Determinations

The CFTC proposes rules governing event contract derivatives, often referred to as prediction markets. A final rule could specify the types of event contracts that may be declared to be "contrary to the public interest, such that they may not be listed for trading or accepted for clearing on or through a CFTC-registered entity." You have until July 27 to comment
